I can't believe I've
been listening to Bucovina for 8 years and it took me so long to get to one of
their concerts! I guess that's the problem with local bands, that I always save
the money and time for foreign bands that come here once or twice and figure
the Romanian bands are always going to be here and I'll have plenty of chances
to see them anytime I want. When I realised this logic isn't getting me
anywhere and I've been a fan for so many years and STILL hadn't seen them live,
I decided this really needs to change. So yey, now I can add them to my list of
concerts!
It was a lovely
night, even though the club was completely packed and you could barely breathe
or move and I saw most of the show through the camera of the guy standing in
front of me instead of seeing it with my own eyes. But Bucovina are perfect for
live concerts, their songs are so memorable and easy to sing along to and also
they are speaking directly to a Romanian audience's heart. They are so purely
Romanian and the lyrics are so inspiring that even though I'm not a
particularly patriotic person, I feel overwhelmed with national pride everytime
I listen to them. And to hear Straja
sung by hundreds of voices and see all those fists raised in the air with
approval was really special, it filled my heart with joy! Speaking of singing,
I loved how they showed in premiere their new video for Spune tu, vant and the audience sung the whole song even though the
guys weren't even on stage and the concert hadn't really started yet. Yes, we
were completely tone deaf and sounded terrible, but we were happy!
I have no idea why
people were a bit iffy when Bogdan gave his ecological speech, though. For me
it made absolute sense that a band like Bucovina would try to use their already
famous voice to draw attention towards these issues and try to conserve the
country they so obviously love. I guess people were in the mood for music
rather then speeches, but Bucovina are clearly a band with a message and I
would've imagined the fans being a bit more open towards that message. Anyway,
I'm glad I finally had a chance to see them live and it's definitely an
experience I want to repeat soon under better conditions. Bucovina seem to be
one of those bands you can never get enough of, no matter how many times you
see them.
